Community impact

Ride for Rebound Day: May 28, 2022 was named Ride for Rebound Day in every community across Northumberland, making the event officially recognized by each town council in the County. Rebound had the opportunity to connect with every town council and share the impact that our programs and services have on the lives of many children, youth, and families who are in need. During this process, mayors and councillors from across the County demonstrated their commitment to supporting the mental wellness of children and youth in Northumberland.

Junior Riders: Play It Again Sports in Cobourg generously agreed to join us as our title sponsor for the second annual Ride for Rebound. A portion of this partnership included donating bikes, helmets, and cycling gloves to five local children and youth from Northumberland County. In addition to receiving a bike from Play It Again Sports, these children and youth had the opportunity to join Cobourg Police Chief Paul VandeGraaf for the last leg of the Ride along William Street in Cobourg, ON.

Over $8,200 raised: The community stepped up to the plate and supported our riders through generous donations and pledges. Over $8,200 was raised, which translates into: more than 50 one-to-one mental health counselling sessions for a children or youth in need; more than 160 children and youth given the opportunity to participate in a group program; or over 320 children and youth receiving homework help for one month. All funds raised through Ride for Rebound directly builds positive mental wellness for children, youth, and families in Northumberland County. To our donors, supporters, and sponsors of Ride for Rebound, thank you!
